The first prototype is a deep learning-based military vehicle classification web prototype which can predict the make/model of a military vehicle present in an image. The second prototype is a language detection, transcription and translation web service based on OpenAI’s Whisper model.
New study highlights harmful and toxic content in selected Scandinavian language models
A new study co-authored by MediaFutures’ researcher Samia Touileb, shows that some of the popular Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish language models generate harmful and gender-biased stereotypes. The finding goes against the general expectations related to gender equality in Scandinavian countries.

The 2022 MediaFutures’ Annual Meeting: Great Attendance and Engagement
Held on November 15th and 16th in Media City Bergen, MediaFutures’ 2nd Annual Meeting came out to be a great success. With over 130 registered guests, the annual conference provided a great opportunity for researchers and industry practitioners to come together, and to discuss the centre’s latest achievements, and reflect on challenges.
