MediaFutures’ PhD candidate Sohail Ahmed Khan has created a Web repository containing a diverse set of resources to assist journalists, fact-checkers, and the public in verifying visual user-generated content.
The repository includes instances of visual forgeries widely spread online in the past. With the use of keyword search the user can find examples of multiple categories of manipulated media, such as copy-move and splicing forgeries, cheap fakes, or deepfakes.
The repository comprises also an overview of research publications concerning detection of different forms of visual content forgeries, and other tools helpful in verifying and detecting manipulated user-generated content.
The repository will be updated on a regular basis.
