University of Oslo is one of Norway’s leading research universities. The Department of Informatics has a strong reputation both in Norway and internationally, and hosts over 40 research projects. The department hosts the Centre for Research-driven Innovation (SIRIUS), which focuses on scalable data access for the oil and gas industry. The Language Technology Group (LTG) at the Department of Informatics has strong competency in state-of-the-art modeling of language using machine learning techniques, as well as experience in the construction, annotation, and analysis of large corpora. LTG hosts the IKTPLUSS SANT (Sentiment Analysis for Norwegian Text) project working on sentiment analysis in Norwegian with NRK, Schibsted and Aller Media. MediaFutures supports UiO’s long-term commitment to interdisciplinarity and recent initiatives on data science and machine learning/AI (NORA, DataScienceLab).
