On Friday, February 20th, MediaFutures hosted a lunch seminar focused on the intersection of lifestyle journalism, health literacy, and AI‑driven media analysis. The event brought together the MediaFutures team working on lifestyle news, who presented the current state of their project, along with MIX250 (Media and Interaction Design) students, who shared insights from interviews with younger audiences.

Representing the Lifestyle News team, Tobias Wessel and Yelyzaveta Lysova delivered a presentation on the current status of VITAL – Verification & Intelligence Tool for Accurate Health Literacy. They highlighted several key research questions guiding the project and provided an overview of its current development stage, which includes data preprocessing, deduplication, and defining parameters for filtering relevant news articles for further analysis.

The presentation was followed by a session with the MIX250 students Helga Brudevoll, Linnea Sannes Rønning, Anna Skjeggestad Rønningen, Emma Alræk Bastiansen and Zagros Jawar Jawar. They shared their findings related to the B2C dashboard project. Their work focuses on an experimental user interface for lifestyle news analysis, incorporating health‑claim verification and frame/sentiment analysis tailored to younger audiences.

The event took place at the MediaFutures office. Over lunch, participants engaged in further discussion and brainstorming, continuing to develop key ideas and perspectives.
