From the 24th to the 26th of March, SFI MediaFutures Innovation Coordinator Dr. Chris Senf joined the UiB AI Steering Group delegation in Brussels, representing the Centre at the UiB Brussels Office. The two-day programme included presentations and discussions covering the rapidly evolving EU AI policy landscape — from the AI Act and the EU AI Office to the European AI in Science Strategy and the Apply AI initiative — with a particular focus on Horizon Europe funding opportunities and the upcoming European Competitiveness Fund (2028–2034). The visit opens up exciting new avenues for MediaFutures as the Centre continues to strengthen its international presence and explore new collaboration partners in responsible AI research and innovation.
