We invite students from all areas of media studies, information sciences, informatics and other related fields to submit a poster for our Annual Meeting on November, 13, 2025.
MediaFutures is a centre for research-based innovation at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, University of Bergen, located at Media City Bergen. The centre is a part of the Norwegian Research Council’s Research-based Innovation scheme. MediaFutures, in cooperation with industry partners from news media and media technology research topics such as media experiences, recommender technology, content production and analysis, content interaction and accessability, and Norwegian language technology.
The MediaFutures Annual Meeting, which will take place on November 13 at Scandic Ørnen, constitutes an excellent opportunity to showcase your research project and/or plans to both academic and industry representatives. The presenters of the posters will be given the opportunity to pitch their posters.
This year’s focus is on ‘Navigating Uncertainty with AI’.
Our ‘Annual Meeting’—the Centre’s yearly flagship international conference—is a one-day, in-person event scheduled for November 13th (Thursday), 2025, from 9:00 to 22:00 (CET), to be held at Scandic Ørnen Hotel in Bergen. The goal of our Annual Meeting is to showcase research and innovation highlights of MediaFutures in Year 5 and to provide an outlook on the future of Media-AI to our partners and audiences. This event will bring together distinguished scholars from Norway and around the globe, as well as industry participants from Norway’s leading media technology companies.
Submission requirements:
All poster proposals will be handled electronically and must be submitted to office@mediafutures.no by 23:59, AoE (Anywhere on Earth) on October 15, 2025.
Everyone who will present a poster must also be registered for the Annual Meeting. Please register for free as soon as possible. Link at the event page.
Poster format:

- A short pitch (maximum 60 seconds) will be given at the beginning of the demo and poster session.
- The posters will be made available digitally to conference participants. Please note that it is the presenters’ responsibility to ensure that presenting a demo or poster at the conference does not infringe any Intellectual Property rights and will neither hinder them nor their co-authors to publish and/or commercially exploit the contents/results in the future.
- Presenters who wish that their poster is deleted after the conference are asked to contact the poster committee at office@mediafutures.no.
- Further guidelines and instructions on how to prepare the demo or poster and pitch will be sent to all accepted presenters in a separate email.
