Svenja Lys Forstner

Svenja Lys Forstner is a PhD Candidate at MediaFutures. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Media Design Computing from Hochschule Hannover in Germany, where she developed a user-centred prototype for a navigation app module, focusing on interaction design and usability challenges in speech assistant interactions. She then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Media and Interaction Design at the University of Bergen, where her thesis focused on designing accessible news experiences for people with dyslexia, reflecting her strong research interest in digital accessibility.
Following her master's degree, she worked as a research assistant at MediaFutures, contributing to research on image transparency labels as part of Project Reynir. She has since started a PhD position at MediaFutures where her project will explore user-centered interventions aimed at reducing selective news avoidance among young audiences.
Apart from research, Svenja enjoys cooking, sailing, going on hikes and being active different environmental and solidarity organizations in Bergen.
