SUMMARY:Mid-term evaluation of PhD candidate Sohail Ahmed Khan
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite you to the public part of the mid-term evaluation of Sohail Ahmed Khan on April 25th at 14:30. The event will take place at MediaFutures Meeting Room (MCB\, 3rd floor).During the presentation\, Sohail will discuss his work on “Computational Visual Content Verification\,” which is part of MediaFutures’ WorkPackage-3. He will showcase his progress\, main findings\, and future plans\, focusing on developing (semi) automated visual content verification prototypes using AI techniques such as deep learning\, computer vision\, and NLP. Sohail’s research aims to provide solutions for various research problems\, including developing prototypes for deepfake and cheapfake detection. The resulting prototypes will be made available to industry partners for further tailoring and incorporation into their workflows.The presentation will start with a 30-minute talk by Sohail\, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session where the audience can ask questions. After that\, we will continue with the internal part of the evaluation.The evaluation committee includes Sohail’s main supervisor\, Duc Tien Dang Nguyen (UiB)\, co-supervisor\, Andreas Lothe Opdahl (UiB)\, additional mentors and supervisors Fazle Rabbi (UiB) and Sergej Stoppel (Wolftech)\, and additional committee member Morten Fjeld (UiB).Your presence and contributions would be greatly appreciated.
